What is the Family Day Charity Scramble?
The Family Day Charity Scramble is a one-day competition, with a unique format. Each division has six teams, with two divisions playing out of the same location.
Each team will play 9 x 15 minute games. The schedule will be divided into 1 hour timeblocks. The format for each timeblock will be as follows:
- 15 minutes vs. Team 1, rotate to next field
- 15 mintues vs. Team 2, rotate to next field
- 15 minutes vs. Team 3, rest for 1 hour.
During the rest hour, the other division will play 3 games.
This process will repeat until the 9 games per team have passed. The winner is determined by the team with the highest goal difference at the end of the “scramble”.
The top two teams in each division will win a prize. The winning team in each division will also win a donation to a family charity selected from a list. On behalf of last year's winners, The Ontario Soccer Association donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charity.
