Organizational Development
The OSA's "Organizational Development" program was launched in April 2008 as a direct result of the OSA's Strategic Plan. Many of the strategic initiatives identified by the membership pertained to organizational development.
The objectives of the program are:
- Expand capacity of organizations in the OSA network in order to provide a better soccer experience for all participants
- Mediate conflict resolution within and between organizations
- Provide educational program
- Improve maximum use of technology
- Serve as resource for organizational administration
The program focuses on:
- Club Development
- League Development
- District Association Development
- Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution
- OSA Policy Interpretation

The primary initial focus will be on District Association Development with an emphasis on the "capacity expansion" of District Associations and "conflict resolution" within Districts.
Meanwhile, the "Club Development Program" focuses on increasing the administrative capacity of Clubs.
The "educational programs" objective is currently addressed by semi-annual District Administrator Workshops and by the workshops and seminars provided to Clubs, Leagues and District Associations at the OSA's annual Soccer Conference.
Currently, the "maximize use of technology" objective is being addressed through the OSA's Administration and Information Management System (AIMS). When fully implemented, AIMS will revolutionize the administration of soccer for all organizations in this province. For more information on AIMS, click on the quick link on the right.
The "serving as a resource for organizational administration" objective has a dual function. It involves serving as a resource in the administration of the game and providing documentation to support organizational administration. As a resource, the program provides policy interpretation, advice, consultation, facilitation, strategic planning and the sharing of "best practices". The documentation function has, so far, included a complete review of the published rules which has resulted in a significant decrease in size of the published rules and a better presentation format. The presentation of documentation (including the published rules) has also been significantly improved on the OSA's new website which includes a search engine to assist individuals in locating the relevant information. In the future, a library of "best practices' documentation" and "sport administration publications" will be provided to further support the administrative efforts of Clubs, Leagues and District Associations.
