FITNESS TEST NEWS FOR 2013

SCHEDULED FITNESS TESTS FOR 2013 - updated regularly

may 17 fitness test list with DRSA LOCATION ADDED ON MAY 26TH - COOPER REGIONAL

The OSA Referee Development (RDC) has determined that as a referee who has requested an extension to the end of June 2013 on their fitness test due to injury or illness (as long as the OSA was provided with a Drs. note), you will be re-graded on RefCentre to a District 7 until you pass the required fitness test.  This regrading will take place on Monday June 3rd.

If you are so injured that you are unable to pass a fitness test at this time, you should be taking the time to heal, and not be refereeing at some of the fastest and highest level games in the province, OSL, OYSL, OWSL etc.  By regrading you, it will remove the "I can't decline another game or I could be in trouble" pressure off of you as you will not be assigned to them as a District 7 referee.

We are performing our due diligence by ensuring a healthy and fit referee is on a game; and  allowing you time to concentrate on becoming healthy.
And please remember, in order to run any future test you must provide the OSA with a second Drs. note stating you are fit and able to do so prior to running a test.

Many districts host fitness tests. The Fitness Test supervisor marks the results on E2E/RefCentre and will determine the level passed within the fitness test. Referees are to register with their district for the fitness test and if they cannot make the date for the test, they then can run the test with a different District.  The tests must be completed by May 31st of the current season.  If a referee has an injury and cannot attend a test before May 31st, they MUST send a letter with a Doctors note dated before May 31st to Nicky Pearson npearson@soccer.on.ca  and request an extension.  Each case is handled individually.  In order to participate in a fitness test at a later date, a second Drs. note must be provided stating you are now fit to participate.

A referee will be Downgraded for the upcoming season if the mandatory fitness test was not completed or passed at the appropriate level by the specified date.
