Remember Canada Soccer’s Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Day in December? They’ve planned another edition of the event, this time designed specifically for women and girls. Join them on Thursday, March 21 for an afternoon of empowerment keynoted by Canada Soccer Women's National Team legend Erin McLeod.
"As a pioneering athlete and advocate for gender equality in sports, McLeod brings a wealth of experience and passion, sharing invaluable insights on overcoming obstacles and achieving success in soccer," said the announcement from Canada Soccer.
A few standout community Club leaders will share the spotlight with McLeod at Women & Girls IDEA Day. Each will discuss the difference they are making at the grassroots level to help get girls into soccer and stay involved.
"Canada Soccer’s Women & Girls IDEA Day will amplify the great work being done in communities across our country and serve as a catalyst for change, inspiring participants to create more inclusive, diverse, equitable and accessible spaces," the announcement continued. "Canada Soccer will highlight best practices and success stories from soccer organizations in Canada that have made substantial progress in promoting [IDEA], with a particular focus on Women and Girls.
