UPDATED: CANMNT's Copa América™ Debut Ends with Fourth-Place Finish

Canada Soccer's Men's National Team (CANMNT) has been competing hard in the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa América™. This is the first time Canada has appeared in the prestigious competition, playing under new Head Coach Jesse Marsch. The roster is highlighted by 16 Made in Ontario talents.

July 13, 2024: CANADA comes up just short against Uruguay in BRONZE MEDAL MATCH

Canada's historic debut at the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa América concluded in a thrilling third-place final as they pushed Uruguay to their limits; they ultimately fell short in a 2(3)-2(4) defeat.

Despite the loss, Canada's performance and determination throughout the tournament showed the world that they are a force to be reckoned with on the international stage as they continue to build towards the FIFA World Cup 26™.

July 9, 2024: CANMNT Falls 0-2 to Argentina in Semi-Final Matchup

CANMNT will make their final appearance in the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa América as they contend for a podium spot. Canada's opponent for the third-place match will be decided Wednesday night after Uruguay faces Colombia in the semifinal.

Despite a strong effort in the semi-final, CANMNT fell short to Argentina 0-2. Julián Álvarez scored in the 22nd minute followed by a goal from Lionel Messi in the 51st to secure the win.

July 5, 2024: Canada Secures Quarter Final Win Over Venezuela in Penalties

CANMNT played a nail-biter of a quarter-final match versus Venezuela on Friday, July 5, winning 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 full-time score.

Jacob Everett Shaffelburg put Canada on the scoreboard first with a goal in the 13th minute of action. Venezuela's Salomón Rondón hit an equalizer in the 64th minute to tie the match.

July 3, 2024: Canada Soccer Confirms Tajon Buchanan Surgery

Canada Soccer confirmed that Brampton native Tajon Buchanan underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured tibia. We wish this Made in Ontario player a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the pitch soon!

   

   

June 29, 2024: CANWNT Advances to Quarter Finals

CANMNT faced off against Chile in their final group stage matchup, which ended in a nil-nil draw.

With a win, a draw, and a loss, Canada ranked second to Argentina in the group stage, advancing to the CONMEBOL Copa América Quarterfinals to face Venezuela - the winners from Group B.

June 25, 2024: Canada Clinches First-Ever CONMEBOL Copa América Win

The squad played their second match of the group stage versus Peru, securing a 1-0 victory with a picture-perfect goal from Ottawa-native Jonathan David in the 74th minute. The match was also David's 50th cap for Canada!

June 20, 2024: CANMNT Makes Tournament Debut VS. Reigning Champions

CANMNT made their CONMEBOL Copa América debut with a match against the reigning tournament and FIFA World Cup™ champions, Argentina.

Canada fell 2-0 to Argentina after Julián Álvarez scored in the 49th minute followed by Lautaro Martínez in the 88th.

June 17, 2024: CANMNT Captains Selected

Made in Ontario midfielder Stephen Eustáquio was selected as vice-captain ahead of the competition, leading the squad alongside head Captain Alphonso Davies.
