The final day of the Ontario Soccer Summit 2017 was highlighted by a fantastic keynote speech by Lorraine Lafrenière, another round of world-class technical sessions from the player, coach and match official streams and was punctuated by a visit by a special guest.
Lafrenière, the Chief Executive Officer of the Coaching Association of Canada, shared a personal story of resilience and tied it together with high-level learning and the teachings every coach could relate to.
The Southampton FC development duo, John Peacock and Margaret McNeill were the standouts for the player and coach streams on the day.
Match officials continued with their tailored teachings as well as education sessions on the Long Term Match Official Development program.
A visit from the Hon. Tracy MacCharles, Ontario Minister Responsible for Accessibility, was a bright addition to the sessions as she was in attendance to help launch Ontario Soccer's Achieving Accessibility guide.
Ontario Soccer President Ron Smale concluded the day with rousing remarks encouraging Ontario members to continue to Discover, Develop and Excel.
